Walt Disney Parks & Resorts

The team at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts were looking to improve their existing My Disney Experience mobile application.  Not only was it outdated, but the application needed upgrades in performance, integration with new functionality including MagicBand management, and a brand new browsing experience for their parks and attractions.  

Charles lead a team of user experience and UI designers in conceptualizing a new vision for the platform.  The project started off with a deep dive into existing user testing, identifying user pain points. In addtion, the team flew out to Orlando to experience the travel and vacation experience first hand as a Walt Disneyworld guest. This immersion lead to a deeper understanding of the user journey from planning, managing, and visiting the parks and attractions.  Leveraging these insights, the team put together a number of new concepts that addressed critical pain points in the journey.

The work was extended across multiple platforms, from iOS mobile and tablet, to the Android platform.  The team created a UI kit that Disney could then extend across other mediums.
